EXPERIMENT- 1.0

AIM

Experiment 1.0, aims to measure in within different CO2 ranges (low, medium and high), the growth of plants, from the early stage of germinated seeds into a young plant, in a controled atmosphere, were CO2 will be provided by a feeding technique, called “CO2B”, which is blowing respiratory air.

A secondary objective is to find out, the quantity of CO2 that is appropiate to better growth the plants, therefore the three different ranges.

And for comparing this numbers, a control group set of seeds is set, in an open space, without being exposed to a high range of CO2.

APPARATUS 1.0

Prototype 1.0, acts as an incubator for the germinated seeds while controlling its atmosphere, temperature and humidity, by encapsulating the seedlings.

The prototype is divided into three different closed volumes, each representing a different level of CO2, and a forth open one.

Six seeds were planted in each one of the volumes.

Because the seedlings are young, light is located outside of the apparatus, and turned on for 12 hours per day, meaning 12 hours of night.

The “CO2B” is provided by three plastic pipes, connected each one to their correspondant volume.

Growing Experiments

APPARATUS 1.0

As refered before, the apparatus 1.0 is composed of three enclosed volumes, where plants grow exposed to different ranges of CO2.
