Spray Configuration

The growth of the roots depends on  4 main mister inputs in each block.

Total: 16 Plants
4 Blocks (4x4 - misters)

1- The configuration of mister system.
- Number Grid

2 Character
(Catalogue for blocks)
- Central
- Sided
- Spread
- Shortest path

3 Scan/Biological Growth
- Tracking growth pattern.

4- Water spraying program and speed through growth periods.
- Time Lapse

Spray Configuration

By artificially conrolling the water system inside the 4 block in the bed we want to experiment;

Tracking the biological growth, architecture  of the root system and simulating this biological growth.
Connectivity between each root

Our question is “Will Spraying variations manipulate the growth”

Growing Experiments

We are using 12 Nozzles in the Aeroponic bed.
4 unit for each Block

Character
Due to pump Force
- 1.5 to 3m radius spraying.
- Min 7m2, max 28m2 of area

The Bed & Micro Climates
The aeroponics bed contains 16 plants in rockwool.

The blocks consist
4- rockwool bed
4 Plants
4 Sprayer

Spraying Head
- Can spray 360 degrees
The head of misters can also be manipulated to control spraying Configuration.

Central Spray System

Giving the required nutrients and water supply in the maximum rate.

Main axis are C and D

According to length and growth, Misters may shift to A or/and E

From each corner of C axis(red points), The misters spray water to the roots.

Sided Spray System

Giving the required nutrients and water supply in the maximum rate to a certain side of root
Roots needs to get watered equally.By using the sided-spray system we want to track the root growth and dried out roots at the same time.
From each corner of the block, The misters spray water to the roots.

Spread Spraying System

Using misters in mixed variation in the point grid.
Nutrient and water input is max.
Spread spray system is the least modified setup for root growing systems. it is an uncontrolled environment.

Shortest Path

According to the growth of the roots length and volume,  point are selected for spraying
The grasshopper definition will help us to evaluate and track the growth of the roots and  define the closest point to the grid.
Where we will experiment the
